  1. Ever had the feeling of Deja Vu ?

    Good Morning Mara;

I think rock and roll Christmas music, if done right, is a great sub-genre of the rock oeuvre.

“Santa Claus is Back in Town” – Elvis Presley
“Christmas With the Devil” – Spinal Tap
“I Yust go Nuts at Christmas” – Jorgi Jorgenson
“I’ll Be Your Santa Baby” – Rufus Thomas
“Linus and Lucy” – Vince Guaraldi Trio
“Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight)” – The Ramones
“Run Rudolph Run” – Chuck Berry or Keith Richards
“The Chipmunk Song” – Canned Heat and the Chipmunks
“Snoopy’s Christmas” – The Royal Guardsmen
“Sock it to Me Santa” – Bob Seger (Luv ya Margot)
“Come on Christmas” – Cheap Trick
“Back Door Santa” – Clarence Carter
“(We Wanna See) Santa Do the Mambo” – Big John Greer
The best Christmas song of all time: “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” – Darlene Love

    Cheese:
that wretched song by Beatle Paul.

Mara, thanks for playing all my requests over the year. You are the shining star on the Atlanta radio candelabra. To all the other posters on the Mara blog, thanks for these great requests and if you read my blog, thank you. Enjoy your Christmas, should you celebrate, and have a safe and happy new year.

    Cheers.

Neil, I always love your lists. I have to check out the Spinal Tap and Clarence Carter songs you mentioned. The titles alone made me laugh!

Tori Amos – What Child, Nowell…or anything else off of ‘Midwinter Graces’

However, I can only stand one day of christmas music before I start to feel homicidal…well, more homicidal than usual that is.

would you consider playing “Gabriel’s Message” by Sting? (one of my faves, plus my little boy is named Gabriel!)

    Happy Holidays, everyone!

  13. Brad

Nothing says Christmas to me like these two songs:

    The Christmas Song-Nat King Cole
